Assessing for Eligibility for the Specialist Dementia Care Program (SDCP) Flyer

#Healthcare Professional #Family Carer

Sometimes the impact of dementia-related changes in behaviour needs more support than can be provided in a mainstream aged care home or at home. That's when DSA's eligibility assessment process can help.

Every person living with dementia is unique and so are their needs. Funded by the Australian Government, the process assesses if a person living with dementia, experiencing very severe behaviours and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), is eligible for support through the Specialist Dementia Care Program (SDCP).

The SDCP is a national network of specialist dementia care units – small homes with a tailored environment, trained staff, specialist services and the goal of helping the person return to mainstream care.
