*Here are three free resources to help you better understand the person you are caring for with FTD and provide additional guidance in your caring role. *

1. **Understanding Frontotemporal Dementia**

‘Understanding Frontotemporal Dementia’ - a chapter from HammondCare's comprehensive BPSD textbook on dementia and the behaviours associated with the condition, delves into the latest evidence and insights on FTD. It covers the various types, its’ association with motor neurone disease, as well as prevalence, presentation, and prognosis.

This chapter emphasises non-pharmacological interventions as effective approaches to address behaviours and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD).

1. ** Sean's Story**

‘Sean's Story’ provides a first-hand account of a lived experience of FTD. Diagnosed at the age of just 44, Sean Kelly shares some valuable insights and understandings around the challenges of living with his condition. His personal narrative underscores the importance of seeking the right support for those affected by FTD.

1. **Dementia podcasts**

We know from the Carer Conversations program that engaging with personal stories can offer both comfort and a sense of connection. In a recent podcast episode, Lynne Sewell discusses her husband Rick's journey with FTD, from initial diagnosis to the challenges of finding appropriate care and living arrangements. Such narratives provide practical insights and emotional support for carers navigating similar paths.
